Morton Property Group

Morton Property Group was one of the key land owners as well as the instigator of the project to create an additional 1200 new lots at Huapai in West Auckland. Morton Property Group set up the landowner structures, appointed key consultants and then led the Special Housing Area Planning process to secure resource consents for subdivision during 2014 to 2016. This involved complex master planning, creating infrastructure solutions as well as negotiating with statutory authorities while managing the project feasibility with multiple land owners.

Morton Property Group was one of the two large shareholders in the execution of the 600 lots subdivision in sought after Omaha Beach. The project was carried out from 1999 to 2007 and included the procuring of all infrastructure, development of a nine hole golf course and delivery of premium beach front and golf course fronting lots to the market. It was one of New Zealand’s the largest major development of beach front property at that time and arguably its most prestigious. It has successfully used a residents society and design guidelines to deliver exceptional property value growth.

An office and retail building in the heart of the Victoria Quarter

Set in the heart of the Victoria Quarter, The Drake is a Historic Place Category 2 building dating back to the late 1800s. The former Freeman’s Hotel is a late nineteenth-century urban corner pub designed by the noted Auckland architectural firm Edward Mahoney and Sons. In 2009 Morton Property built a new interlinking office building designed to 4 Green Stars which was one of the first Green Star projects in New Zealand. In 2019 we completed the seismic strengthening and conversion of the pub to character offices which is now home to advertising agency Pitchblack Partners.
